The made with wool team visited Bangor University’s product design students this week to speak to them about wool, the amazing resource we have here in Wales, and the massive part it plays in our heritage. Over the coming weeks, the students will be working on designing and prototyping products made using wool as part of their course.
There are many benefits of using wool, it’s 100% renewable, 100% sustainable and a 100% biodegradable.
Wool also has hypoallergenic and anti bacterial properties and an ignition point of 750 degrees Celsius making it flame resistant. It can also absorb indoor contaminants, including nitrogen dioxide and locks them away in the fibre core.
