Project Overview

The 'Made with Wool' project aims to improve people's understanding of this great fibre, support innovative solutions to supply chain challenges, facilitate new products, and facilitate collaboration across the whole chain "From Fleece to Finish"

The project wants to work with people and businesses to realise the potential of wool as a natural, sustainable and versatile material.

Menter Môn is the lead partner, with British Wool (BW), The BioComposites Centre at Bangor University and the Wool Testing Authority (WTA) at Caernarfon, WTA being our delivery partners.

British Wool is a farmers cooperative representing 35,000 UK wool producers. ‘BW’ structure consists of 9 regions of which 2 are in Wales (Welsh Northern and Welsh Southern). Each region has a farmer elected board member responsible for representing wool producers interests at board level.
The BioComposites Centre at Bangor University has been at the forefront of research, development, and the commercial application of bio-based alternatives to synthetic materials in manufacturing and industry.

The Wool Testing Authority’s base for the Northern Hemisphere is at Caernarfon. The company provides an objective, cost effective wool testing service with independence and integrity assured.
